German-Speaking Insurance Broker / Underwriter - Chief Underwriter Track Cargofort is hiring a German-speaking insurance professional to help us build the next stage of our insurance business. We are not looking for a standard employee for a standard insurance job. We are looking for someone who wants to help build an international insurance platform focused on cargo, logistics, transport liability, underwriting automation, and claims intelligence. Cargofort is a fast-growing insurance and claims management company working with forwarders, carriers, cargo owners, brokers, insurers, and logistics companies across Europe. We are now expanding our German-market insurance operations and are looking for a strong insurance profile who can grow with us. The role can be shaped depending on your background: Senior Insurance Broker Underwriter Insurance Operations Lead Underwriting & Portfolio Analyst Future Chief Underwriter For the right person, this role can become a 24-month path toward a Chief Underwriter position. What You Will Work On You will be involved in building and scaling the insurance function of the company. Your work may include: supporting cargo and freight forwarding liability insurance products; working on insurance conditions, product wording, clauses, and extensions; analysing transport, logistics, and cargo insurance risks; supporting underwriting decisions and portfolio analysis; helping transfer existing portfolio into a structured underwriting model; analysing claims trends, loss patterns, account quality, and client performance; working with our engineering team; supporting broker, insurer, and client communication; improving the full process from quote to offer to policy to claim; helping build internal underwriting rules, referral logic, and authority guidelines; contributing to the long-term underwriting strategy of the company. This is a hands-on role. You will work directly with the founders and the core team. Who We Are Looking For We are open to several profiles. You may be a strong fit if you have experience as: insurance broker; insurance intermediary; underwriter; insurance operations specialist; insurance account manager; transport / cargo insurance specialist; claims specialist with insurance knowledge; insurance professional with German-market experience. German language is a must for this role. Insurance background is important. A structured, analytical mind is important. Cargo / marine / logistics insurance experience is a strong advantage, but not mandatory if you are sharp, serious, and willing to learn fast.
