Job Opportunity – Program Technician, Invasive Species About the Position: IRC has an opening for a full-time Program Technician on the Invasive Species team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work outdoors and use a variety of skills to protect habitats and improve biodiversity. Depending on the season and the needs of the program, the Program Technician will implement a variety of control methods and techniques on a variety of species, perform invasive species surveys and mapping, and engage with vendors, volunteers, and the public. The Program Technician will work independently under general direction and as part of a team. The Successful Candidate will have a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field and the following experience, skills, abilities, and knowledge: Experience in landscape maintenance, habitat restoration, or similarAbility to identify common invasive plants and pests in the fieldExperience with basic methods for controlling invasive plants, including mechanical and chemicalExperience safely using and maintaining hand tools and equipment such as hoes, shovels, pick mattocks, backpack sprayers, and weed whipsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in an outdoor setting at multiple locationsFamiliarity with the local ecology Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.75 per hour ($49,920 - $55,640 per year) About Irvine Ranch Conservancy: Irvine Ranch Conservancy restores, protects, and enhances our closest connection to nature – our local wildlands.
