Operating Room Nurse/Tech

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, 7 AM - 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with weekday and weekend call rotation, as well as holiday call as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Operating Room Nurses and Surgical Techs to join our high-paced surgical team. The ideal candidates will have robust knowledge and experience in a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring excellent patient care and support during surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room before surgeries, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
• Perform scrubbing duties, assisting the surgical team as needed, including passing instruments during procedures.
• Monitor and maintain a sterile environment during surgeries.
• Participate in case reviews and team meetings, providing input on best practices and process improvements.
• Respond to emergency situations quickly and efficiently, providing assistance according to established protocols.
• Rotate through charge responsibilities and assist with all specialties as required during evening/nights.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-3 years of experience in the surgical specialty required.
• Must have experience passing instruments for robotic surgeries (DaVinci) and other specialties.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS required, PALS preferred.
• Previous travel assignments strongly preferred (2-3 prior assignments).
• Must possess a valid driver's license with an address located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.

Experience Requirement: 2-3 Years of experience in the specialty is required, as well as 2-3 previous travel assignments. Ortho/Neuro experience is preferred.

Weekend Requirement - RN's One weekend day on-call 7a-7p per month

What is call response time? 20 minutes (if they are >20 minutes away & on call they would be required to stay )
