About This Role
Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is now hiring for an Infant Lead Teacher for Immediate Hire in Alexandria, VA!
We are a faith-based early childhood education center seeking a reliable, nurturing, and energetic caregiver who is passionate about working with young infants
(6 weeks - 9 months old) .
This is a great opportunity for a candidate looking for a stable, full-time childcare position in a supportive, team-oriented environment where your work truly makes a difference. In this role, you will help children reach key developmental milestones through hands-on learning, structured routines, and responsive caregiving . You will also build strong relationships with families and contribute to a positive classroom culture.

What You'll Do- Provide attentive care for infants, including feeding, diapering, and daily routines
- Plan and assist with age-appropriate activities (sensory play, music, reading, motor skill development)
- Implement lesson plans based on the Abeka Book Christian curriculum
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Monitor and support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Communicate daily with parents using the Brightwheel App and in-person updates
- Follow all Virginia Department of Education licensing standards and center policies
- Lead and work collaboratively with support staff
- Maintain a positive, patient, and professional demeanor throughout the day
- Minimum 2 years of childcare experience (daycare, preschool, nanny, or similar) preferred
- Strong understanding of infant care and development
- Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced childcare setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Must pass background check and health screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CDA, AA, or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience with Brightwheel or childcare management apps
- Experience with Abeka curriculum
- DHO or MAT Certification
Starting pay is $18/hour for candidates with a CDA, AA, BA, or relevant coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Candidates without these qualifications are still encouraged to apply , but starting pay may vary based on experience and credentials.
