Senior Superintendent - Construction General Contractor

Position Overview Senior Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on base‑building or interior projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction. Senior Superintendent typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude Communicate clearly and effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones Thoroughly understand contract documents Conduct weekly contractor meetings Oversee the creation of daily reports and documentation using Procore Create, manage, and update the project schedule Create and implement contingency plans as necessary Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team, subcontractors, and owner’s representatives Oversee project quality plan Resolve jurisdictional disputes Mentor other employees with less experience Experience / Education BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 10‑15 years of experience on $15 million or larger commercial/industrial construction base‑building projects in a superintendent role, or A combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Senior Superintendent Experience collaborating with Washington D.C. Government Department of General Services is ideal Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excel at teamwork Be able to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, and via email Focus on achieving results Proven ability to multi‑task in deadline‑driven environment Knowledgeable of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction Strong documentation skills Ability to read specifications, plans, and details Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction project management software Working knowledge of construction safety protocols Proficiency in all division of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Experience interfacing with clients, architects, owners, and subcontractors GCS-SIGAL offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive benefits and a 401(k) plan.
