Job Title : Senior Packaging Graphic Designer

Location: This role offers flexibility for candidates to be based near any of our Sanofi facilities: Morristown, Swiftwater, Cambridge, Framingham or Northborough.

About the Job

The Senior, Packaging Graphic Designer, leads the translation of approved packaging design concepts into production ready artwork and printed materials. This role owns packaging artwork governance, execution standards, workflows, and final file readiness to ensure brand integrity, regulatory compliance, operational feasibility, and supply continuity.

The Manager collaborates closely with Packaging Design, Packaging Engineering, Regulatory, Product Development, Supply Chain, Production, Master Data, external vendors, and print partners to deliver high-quality packaging artwork through disciplined processes, strong project management, and continuous improvement. Leads the creation and execution of visual design solutions across regulatory product labelling and packaging, to support sales growth and business objectives.

Provides creative leadership, ensures brand consistency, collaborates with cross functional stakeholders, and delivers high-quality design assets that meet consumer, customer, regulatory, and production requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Scope of Work, Packaging Artwork Development and Commercialization

• Leads the post Design phase of packaging artwork development, design, and production of regulatory labelling for commercial pharmaceutical, medical device packaging, print materials that align with brand strategies and business objectives.

• Ensuring seamless translation of creative concepts into accurate, production ready artwork files.

• Owns artwork execution standards, workflows, governance, and final release processes to support successful commercialization.

• Experience working with regulatory labeling, dielines, label, carton, leaflet for pharmaceutical or medical device packaging with management of multiple SKUs from end to end with compliance and right first time at the forefront of each project.

• Create compelling, consumer focused visual solutions that effectively communicate brand positioning and enhance customer engagement through regulatory labelling of label, carton, leaflets.

• Maintain proficiency in industry standard design software InDesign and Illustrator and stay current on emerging design trends, technologies, regulations, and consumer insights.

Artwork Governance and Operational Excellence

• Builds and continuously improves scalable artwork workflows, approval systems, version control processes, and documentation standards that enhance speed, accuracy, consistency, and predictability.

• Ensures all artwork assets are organized, archived, and audit ready within centralized systems.

• Prepare accurate production files and specifications for packaging, print, digital, and merchandising applications. Ensure designs meet technical requirements for printing, manufacturing, and digital deployment.

• Ensure consistent application of brand standards, visual identity guidelines, and design best practices across all creative assets.

Cross Functional Project Leadership

• Serves as the central point of coordination for packaging artwork projects, providing visibility through project tracking, reporting, risk identification, dependency management, and proactive communication.

• Partners closely with Packaging Design, Packaging Engineering, Regulatory, Product Development, Supply Chain, Production, and Master Data to ensure successful execution and alignment

• Collaborates with external artwork agencies as needed, internal and external plants, and execution partners, regulatory, quality, and proofreading at the Global level ensuring alignment on scope, quality, timing, and performance expectations

• Manage artwork revisions, approvals, and version control for product launches and throughout the design lifecycle.

• Lead multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting established timelines.

Post Launch Artwork Management

• Owns all artwork only changes following product launch, including updates driven by design evolution, regulatory requirements, market needs, and business priorities.

• Ensures changes are executed accurately and without disruption to supply

• Coordinates BOM updates with Packaging and Master Data teams and partners with Production to ensure clear communication of phase in and phase out timing requirements.

Resource and Team Management

• Perform proofreading to ensure all artwork, graphics, and visual communications are error free and compliant before release into the Supply Chain to patients.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on graphic design, packaging design, typography, color management, and production processes.

• Provide creative direction and design recommendations that support company growth initiatives, product launches, and customer specific programs

• Leads and develops internal packaging artwork resources, including artwork coordination and design execution functions

• Manages workload planning, resource allocation, performance management, capability building, and career development to support organizational goals

Budget and Continuous Improvement

• Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance operating models to support growing business complexity and volume

• Owns budgets related to packaging artwork operations, including external agencies, contract resources, and supporting partners

About You

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, Visual Communications, Fine Arts or related field with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, or Regulated CPG industries OR Bachelor's degree in graphic design, graphic communication, Visual Communications, Fine Arts or related field with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, or Regulated CPG industries

• Strong Experience oriented to regulatory labelling graphic design work, packaging operations, print production, creative operations, or related functions.

• Demonstrated expertise across print, digital, brand, design

• Strong portfolio showcasing creative concept development and execution

• Experience managing artwork development from concept handoff through production release

• Strong understanding of packaging print processes, artwork management systems, color approval processes, and packaging specifications

• Familiarity and/or training in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) activities and regulated environment requirements

The salary range for this position is:

$81.375,00 - $117.541,66
