Water Softener Install Technician

Pay: $18-22/hour (based on experience)

Job Description

This role focuses on installing, setting up, and maintaining high-quality water treatment systems for residential and commercial customers in the greater Twin Cities south and west metro area. The technician ensures each system operates reliably, provides clear guidance to customers, and supports ongoing service needs while representing a long-standing, family-operated water treatment provider.

Responsibilities

• Set up, install, and test water treatment equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.
• Review system placement and installation details with customers and provide thorough training upon completion of each installation.
• Perform diagnostics and testing on water treatment systems to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Carry out mechanical and technically oriented fieldwork, including adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Use technology such as mobile apps, digital work instructions, and tools for creating accurate invoice summaries and service documentation.
• Safely move and position heavy equipment and components during installations and service calls.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with customers to explain work performed, system functionality, and any follow-up needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing service role, such as in-home or on-site service (for example, cable, satellite, HVAC, or similar field service work).
• Experience in service, mechanical work, troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and hand tools.
• Willingness to pursue continuing education and water treatment certifications.
• Desire to grow within a stable, long-established service organization.

Work Environment

Monday - Friday | 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (OT as required) | Company vehicle offered once through initial training.

This is a Contract position based out of Burnsville, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
