Primary Care Physician (VA Clinics)Location: Milwaukee, WIPay: $130-165/hrSchedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (No weekend or holiday coverage)Type: Onsite PositionPosition OverviewThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join the interdisciplinary team at its Milwaukee, WI clinics. This role is an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive healthcare services to both civilian and military patients.QualificationsEducation and Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.License: Any unrestricted state medical license.Experience: At least 2 years of clinical experience within the past 3 years.Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.Technical Skills: Proficiency in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and other VA tools.Key ResponsibilitiesInterdisciplinary Team Membership: Function as a full member of the interdisciplinary care team, collaborating with VA physicians, CRNAs, APNs, NPs, PAs, RNs, and allied health professionals.Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide history, physical examination, diagnosis, and initiation of medical treatment.Initiate and facilitate treatment and transfer in emergency situations.Conduct follow-up visits for existing medical issues, including diagnostic tests and medication adjustments.Patient Referrals and Advocacy: Refer patients to VA specialists/services or other appropriate healthcare providers as needed.Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care and act as a patient advocate.Clinical Documentation: Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in CPRS the same day services are rendered.Utilize VA tools like Instant Messaging (TEAMS), emails, View Alerts, and clinical reminders.Emergency and After-Hours Availability: Be available to receive lab result communications via phone after hours.Quality Assurance and Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current and emerging clinical methods.Act as a consultant in clinical practice to ensure the highest quality of care.Patient Volume and Case Complexity: Evaluate and treat approximately 10 patients per 8-hour shift, addressing diverse medical complexities such as cardiovascular, GI, pulmonary, orthopedic, and surgical issues.BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate of $130-165/hr.Predictable schedule with no weekend or holiday coverage.Opportunity to serve the nation's Veterans in a well-supported and collaborative clinical environment.Interested candidates must submit proof of Board Certification/Eligibility, a valid state medical license, and demonstrate relevant clinical experience.Join us in providing exceptional care to Veterans and making a meaningful impact in their lives.
