Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician II

Role: Fleet Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles through preventive inspections and repairs. Key Duties Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency. Conduct annual and regulatory inspections on tractors, trailers, and other equipment. Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, and hydraulic components. Complete work orders, document repairs, and learn company diagnostic software. Perform electrical repairs and welding as needed, utilizing electrical meters and tools. Qualifications And Skills High school diploma or GED; technical training in medium/heavy-duty trucks. 2+ years fleet maintenance experience or equivalent education + experience. Valid driver’s license and certifications like ASE, Brake Inspector, and HVAC (preferred). Proficiency with diagnostic software, electrical testing, and repair skills. Ability to operate various equipment, perform physical tasks, and adhere to safety regulations. Physical & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, stand, crawl, and perform repetitive tasks. Work may involve outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and exposure to noise, fumes, or extreme temperatures.
