Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations through thorough physical exams and detailed medical history assessments
- Assist in evaluating and diagnosing surgical conditions via a meticulous review of imaging and lab results
- Work in close partnership with surgeons to devise individualized surgical treatment plans
- Offer critical intraoperative support by preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and managing surgical instruments during procedures
- Provide outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care including managing medications, caring for wounds, planning discharges, and educating patients
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Completion of clinical rotations with emphasis on surgical practices is highly preferred
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- In-depth understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and influence complex clinical decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal competence
- Able to flourish in high-intensity situations, especially during surgical operations
- A compassionate bedside manner underscoring respect for patient dignity and autonomy
