Occupational Therapist - Day Shift

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, aligning with Select Medical's core values of delivering superior quality, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatment based on assessment.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in the application of Occupational Therapy techniques.
• Maintain a focus on patient and employee safety, promoting a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families at their level of understanding.
• Administer appropriate evaluation procedures based on the patient's diagnosis.
• Document training and use of equipment with patients and/or families, and discharge plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid and current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Occupational Therapy field, with previous inpatient rehab experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires availability for day shifts, operating on a 5x8 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
