SOC Watchfloor Analyst - Cybersecurity Analyst

Kforce has a client in Huntsville, AL that is seeking a SOC Watchfloor Analyst - Cybersecurity Analyst for a long-term contract role. Overview: We are seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Analyst to support a high-visibility, mission-critical initiative. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in cybersecurity who are ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to the protection of vital systems and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor computer networks for potential security threats and vulnerabilities
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and breaches
• Document incidents and assess the scope and impact of security events
• Collaborate with the security team to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Remediate identified vulnerabilities to uphold a high-security posture
• Recommend and implement IT security best practices, including the deployment of firewalls and encryption technologies
• Perform forensic analysis, validate intrusion data, and create secure duplicates of compromised files
• Decrypt data and deliver technical summaries and insights
• Analyze recovered data using techniques such as timeline reconstruction, statistical analysis, and file signature review
• Provide real-time cyber defense support and assist deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs)
• Splunk Enterprise Security experience
• To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
• Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
