Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required Must-Have: - General OR experience - Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred - Previous charge experience required - EPIC charting experience required Description: Position in the Operating Room. Ratios are 1:1 for all shifts. First-timers are not accepted. Weekend requirement is one weekend per month, available as Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. No on-call requirement. Clinicians will not float outside of their scope. Travelers must work with unit leaders for scheduling concerns. Patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Experience with patient diagnoses in a Level I Trauma Center is preferred. Special procedures include Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neuro/Spine, Orthopedic, General, GYN, and Da Vinci Robotic procedures. Essential skills include circulating and scrubbing for Level 1 trauma experience. Additional skills required are infection control, fire safety, and universal protocol. Charting is done using EPIC. Basic patient care and surgery assistance responsibilities will be expected. Basic knowledge of trauma and surgical protocols needed. Familiarity with specific surgical procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and others is essential. Travelers are expected to adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
