Laborer

Job Title

This is a general labor position that involves a variety of physical tasks.

Duties

The job includes but is not limited to the following:

• Loading and unloading heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc. Moving heavy boxes or cartons by hand, hand-truck, or dolly. Opening crates and boxes using crowbars and cutting bands using shears. Stacking boxes and cartons where directed.
• Using a shovel to dig ditches where grading and sloping is not required. Filling holes with dirt and leveling bumps and low places using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake.
• Running hand and powered lawnmowers which do not require very heavy physical effort.
• Clearing small trees and bushes using a hatchet, handsaw, or clipper.
• Moving and arranging furniture and equipment as directed.
• May shovel snow, sand, or dirt from sidewalks.
• Collecting and emptying garbage cans, burning garbage and trash.
• Washing and waxing cars and trucks by hand or using a powered buffer.
• Performs other related duties as required.
