LS GreenLink is building one of the most advanced subsea power cable manufacturing facilities in the United States — right here in Chesapeake, Virginia. Powering the clean energy transition starts with people, and as we scale from startup to full production, hundreds of new team members will need to master complex, safety-critical manufacturing skills fast. As our Learning & Development Specialist, you'll build the training engine that turns new hires into confident, qualified cable manufacturing professionals. This isn't maintaining someone else's program — it's building one from the ground up.

What You'll Accomplish

• Within 90 days, assess skill gaps across production, quality, and maintenance teams and deliver a facility-wide training roadmap aligned to our production ramp-up milestones.
• Design and launch a structured onboarding program that gets new manufacturing hires safely productive on the floor in weeks, not months.
• Build hands-on technical training and qualification programs for cable extrusion, testing, and material handling — including skills matrices, OJT checklists, and certification tracking for every production role.
• Partner with EHS to embed safety training into every learning pathway, achieving 100% compliance with OSHA and site-specific requirements before operators touch equipment.
• Stand up a learning management system (or optimize our existing tools) to track completion, certifications, and audit-ready records across 500+ employees.
• Develop frontline leaders by launching a supervisor development track within your first year, measured by internal promotion rates and team retention.
• Establish training effectiveness metrics — time-to-proficiency, error rates, retention — and report progress to leadership quarterly.

Environment & Resources

You'll report to the HR Manager and work daily alongside production leadership, engineering, quality, and EHS. You'll have direct access to subject matter experts, budget for training tools and content development, and the backing of a global parent company with decades of cable manufacturing expertise to draw from. As an early hire in a growing facility, you'll shape how learning works here — permanently.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years designing and delivering training programs in a manufacturing, industrial, or skilled-trades environment.
• Proven experience building technical/OJT programs from scratch — not just administering existing ones.
• Working knowledge of adult learning principles and hands-on instructional design (job aids, e-learning, instructor-led).
• Experience with LMS administration and training compliance documentation.
• Comfort on a production floor — you train where the work happens.
• Bonus: experience supporting a facility startup, expansion, or rapid workforce scale-up.
