The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Law Enforcement Records Specialist II to play a vital role in supporting our agency and serving the community. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to public safety by providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and supporting essential law enforcement functions. You'll be a key point of contact for both the public and internal teams, ensuring efficient and professional interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate Record Management: Maintaining and updating comprehensive records, both digitally and in written form, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Data Entry & Retrieval: Efficiently entering and retrieving data using specialized systems like RMS (Records Management System) and NCIC (National Crime Information Center).
• Public Service & Information Dissemination: Providing exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries from the public and Charleston County Sheriff's Office personnel with accuracy and professionalism.
• Communication & Collaboration: Serving as a key communicator, interacting regularly with the public and other government agencies in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Administrative Support: Providing general clerical support, including typing, data entry, and filing with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing repetitive clerical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License (or ability to obtain one)
• Commitment to obtaining NCIC 40-hour certification within 6 months
• Honorably discharged from the military (if applicable).
• Have no pending cases or criminal felony convictions (misdemeanors may require expungement).
• No THC or Marijuana use within 365 days; some drugs are automatic disqualifiers.
• No student loans in default status.
