Position eligible for hybrid‑teleworking schedule with weekly onsite work hours. Description Of Work The North Carolina Early Intervention Section is part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being and leads the N.C. Infant‑Toddler Program, supporting families and children birth to three with developmental delays and disabilities. Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) implement the NC ITP across North Carolina, working with local service providers to help families help their children succeed. The primary purpose of the Nutritionist position is to provide comprehensive, complex nutrition evaluation and treatment services to children ages birth to three with medical/nutritional problems and developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, or those characterized as medically high risk who are referred to or enrolled in the Infant Toddler Program. Services are provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant/Toddler Program, including service delivery in the child’s natural learning environment such as the home. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred) Experience interviewing, assessing, and counseling parents/caregivers regarding nutrition. Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining quality standards of nutrition care for children 0-3 and their families, using current standards and practice. Experience in utilizing a range of pediatric nutrition intervention techniques to reach nutritional and developmental outcomes. Experience in a multi‑disciplinary pediatric setting. Experience providing nutritional services in the family’s home as well as via a virtual platform. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Physical Requirements Must be able to travel throughout assigned area via car, and access client homes and other community locations. Minimum Education and Experience Master’s degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, or nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of related experience and holding the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; or Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, or nutrition from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience and holding the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
