Junior Drywall Estimator

Job Title: Junior Estimator – Commercial Drywall Location: Savannah, GA OR Charleston, SC Position Summary An established commercial construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support the preconstruction team in preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall and related scopes. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction estimating, with opportunities for growth and mentorship. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal studs, insulation, ceilings, and related systems Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents Solicit and track vendor and subcontractor pricing Help compile and organize bid proposals and supporting documentation Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software Communicate with project managers, estimators, and field teams for scope clarification Participate in project handoff meetings after award Ensure deadlines are met for bid submissions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Basic understanding of construction drawings and terminology Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment Strong communication and willingness to learn Preferred (but not required) Internship or prior exposure to commercial construction or estimating Familiarity with takeoff or estimating software (e.g., On‑Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Planswift) Knowledge of drywall systems and materials Work Environment Office‑based with occasional site visits Collaborative team setting with training and mentorship provided Compensation & Benefits Competitive entry‑level salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Career development and advancement opportunities Equal Opportunity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr Solid Rock Recruiting LLC
