We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our Kansas City team.

This is an opportunity for a paralegal who wants more than a narrow support role. Because we are a small firm, our paralegals work directly with experienced attorneys, develop a deep understanding of their cases, and play a meaningful role from the beginning of a matter through discovery, dispositive motions, settlement, and trial.

What You'll Do

You will provide hands-on litigation support in Kansas and Missouri state and federal matters, including:

• Manage case files and litigation deadlines from initial filing through resolution or trial.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Coordinate electronic filing and service in state and federal courts.
• Manage written discovery, document collection, review, organization, and production.
• Organize and maintain case files, deposition materials, transcripts, exhibits, and discovery materials.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, expert witnesses, and other case-related matters.
• Assist attorneys with factual investigation and preparation of chronologies, summaries, and case materials.
• Prepare deposition exhibits, hearing materials, trial exhibits, witness files, and trial notebooks.
• Assist with trial preparation and provide trial support when needed.
• Maintain case calendars and track filing deadlines, hearings, discovery obligations, and other critical dates.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and vendors.
• Work directly with attorneys to identify next steps and help keep matters moving efficiently.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience , preferably involving commercial, business, construction, or real estate litigation.
• Experience supporting matters through discovery, depositions, motions practice, and trial preparation.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple matters, competing deadlines, and shifting priorities.
• Sound judgment and the confidence to take initiative without constant direction.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case or document-management systems.
• A collaborative, professional approach to working with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.

Experience with Kansas and Missouri state and federal courts is strongly preferred.
