The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30pm to 07:00am. This position qualifies for hourly shift differential, quarterly bonuses, and on-site parking. Additional $6.00/hr Night Weekday shift differential Additional $9.50/hr Night Weekend shift differential JOB DESCRIPTION: Every patient room, operating room, laboratory, and clinical department depends on safe, reliable plumbing systems operating around the clock. As a Licensed Plumber with Facilities Management, you’ll help maintain the infrastructure that delivers clean water, supports patient care, and keeps one of the region’s most critical healthcare facilities operating safely every day. You’ll join a team of experienced licensed trades professionals responsible for maintaining the hospital’s plumbing systems and essential building infrastructure. This is more than a traditional plumbing position. From domestic water distribution and sanitary drainage to medical gas support, specialty fixtures, and critical utility systems, your work directly supports patient care every day. Whether your experience comes from healthcare, commercial construction, industrial facilities, higher education, manufacturing, or another complex environment, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your plumbing expertise while expanding your knowledge of the specialized systems that support modern healthcare. RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the hospital’s domestic water, sanitary, storm, and specialty plumbing systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing infrastructure, piping systems, pumps, valves, fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment. Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems in support of infrastructure improvements, renovation projects, and patient care needs. Maintain and troubleshoot backflow prevention devices, emergency eyewash and shower stations, and other life safety plumbing systems. Support the operation and maintenance of medical gas infrastructure and other specialized healthcare utility systems, as applicable. Respond to plumbing failures, water leaks, drain obstructions, and facility emergencies while minimizing disruption to patient care. Collaborate with fellow Facilities professionals to maintain a safe, reliable, and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Document inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and testing while maintaining compliance with applicable plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Vermont Journeyman Plumber License, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of employment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot commercial or institutional plumbing systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize competing demands, and respond effectively during emergency situations. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. Preferred: Vermont Master Plumber License. Experience in healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional, or other complex facilities. Experience with medical gas support systems, backflow prevention, pumps, and large-scale domestic water systems. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Full-time night shift. On-site employee parking.
