Advertising Summary: The New Mexico State University School of Social Work is seeking a full-time, campus-based, 12-month, Visiting Assistant Professor who will assist in providing classroom coverage of the School's curriculum.

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status : Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule:

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The faculty member must be able to provide undergraduate instruction in various areas of the department's undergraduate curriculum in-person and online, both synchronous asynchronous format.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 1. Possess an MSW from an accredited University and two years post-MSW experience


2. Possess the ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

3. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Evidence of providing service to the professional and/or academic community.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: New Mexico State Social Work License

Special Certification/Licensure:

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
