Key statistics: 950+ Consultants 640+ Ph.D.s 90+ Disciplines 30+ Offices globally Our Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in Industrial Hygiene and Exposure Science to join our Health Sciences practice in the greater Washington DC area. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide scientific support on a wide range of projects addressing human health risks associated with environmental, occupational, consumer, and other exposures. You will receive mentorship from senior consultants and have opportunities to work across Exponent’s science and engineering practices, contributing to impactful solutions that make a difference for our clients and communities. As a consultant at Exponent, you will build trusted client relationships grounded in scientific rigor and integrity, and over time, grow your consulting portfolio. You will be responsible for Conductingcomprehensive reviews and critical analyses of scientific literature, regulatory standards, guidance documents, and legal case materials. Performingtargeted literature searches related to specific diseases, exposures, and health outcomes. Contributingto the development and authorship of complex technical reports and publications. Managingand analyzingdata from project tasks and applied research studies. Organizingandmaintainingproject-related materials and documentation. Engagingwithclients through remote and in-person interactions,demonstratingprofessionalism anda thoughtful, client-centered approach. Cultivatingyour professionalexpertise, leadership capabilities, and contributions to the scientific community. Pleasenotethis role does not involve laboratory-based research or testing. You will have the following skills and qualifications Ph.D. in Exposure Science or Occupational and Environmental Hygiene . 5 or more years of consulting experience in the exposure science space. Credentials of a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Proven ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively through well-structured writing, precise editing, and thoughtful verbal communication tailored to diverse audiences. Demonstrated success managingmultiple tasks effectively with attention to detail, discretion, and sound judgment. Commitment to professional development through scientific publication, presentations, and active participation in professional societies. A collaborative mindset that values diversity of thought and fosters respectful teamwork. Initiative, adaptability, and a passion for applying objective science to solve real-world challenges. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary. The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process. Salary Range USD $122,000.00 - USD $156,000.00 /Yr.
