Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced L&D RN for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required: two 12-hour on-call shifts per 6-week period
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Medication administration via Omnicell
• Navy surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking available with a pass issued at start

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have proof of application and cannot begin until the license is active
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Beginner, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate, FHM, and NRP (all must be AHA-issued)
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Advanced, STABLE
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
