Location: St. Augustine, Florida 32092

Shift: Monday - Friday 7am-4pm

Job Description

The General Laborer supports day-to-day operations in both the yard and warehouse by maintaining a clean, safe work area and assisting with basic material handling tasks. This role involves sweeping, cleaning, and organizing spaces, as well as helping move materials using pallet jacks or forklifts when needed. The ideal candidate works proactively, takes initiative, and contributes to smooth and efficient production activities.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean the yard and warehouse to keep floors free of dust, debris, and scrap materials.
• Pick up and properly dispose of scrap plastics, wood, and other materials throughout the facility.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in open yard areas and inside the warehouse.
• Monitor floors and work areas for dust accumulation and address it promptly through regular sweeping.
• Take initiative to identify areas that need cleaning or organizing without waiting for direction.
• Assist with general production and labor tasks as requested to support overall operations.
• Handle materials safely to prevent damage to products, equipment, and surrounding areas.
• Follow all safety procedures related to working in hot, dusty, open-air environments.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors about any hazards or issues observed in the work areas.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and basic material handling.
• Ability to sweep and clean yard and warehouse areas thoroughly and consistently.
• Comfort working in general production or warehouse environments.
• Capability to use pallet jacks to move materials safely when needed.
• Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn, if required for material movement.
• Basic understanding of construction or industrial work settings and safety practices.
• Physical ability to work on your feet, bend, lift, and carry materials in a labor-intensive role.
• Strong work ethic with a proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, construction, or production environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with material handling practices, including safe movement and storage of materials.
• Comfort using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities throughout the workday.
• Attention to detail in keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a mixed yard and warehouse setting with an open-air environment. Work will take place both outside in the yard, where there is no shade, and inside the warehouse, which can be hot and dusty due to the powder manufactured on-site. Temperatures may be high, and dust exposure is common, so comfort working in these conditions is essential. Air conditioning is available only during break times. The position involves physical labor, frequent walking, sweeping, and material handling.

This is a Contract position based out of St. Augustine, FL.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in St. Augustine,FL.
