Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist

Job Description Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper with strong expertise in Payroll processing and Financial Reporting . The ideal candidate is proficient in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel , with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing monthly payroll, and assisting with general accounting tasks. Key Responsibilities 1. Bookkeeping & General Accounting: Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Record financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks . Perform printing reconciliations. Maintain an organised digital and physical filing system for all financial documents. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet). Support external auditors during year-end audits by providing necessary documentation. 2. Payroll Management: Process monthly payroll for all employees in compliance with company policies. Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and end-of-service benefits. Ensure timely submission of payroll reports to relevant authorities (e.g., SIO/LMRA if applicable). Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and deductions professionally and confidentially. 3. Financial Analysis & Reporting (Excel): Utilize Advanced Microsoft Excel functions to create financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Track expenses against budget and highlight variances to management. Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll processing. Experience in the hospitality, leisure, or retail sector is a plus. Technical Skills: Quick Books: Proven proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Desktop (mandatory). Microsoft Excel: Advanced level (comfortable with complex formulas, data visualization, and large datasets). Familiarity with accounting standards and tax regulations (VAT) is highly desirable. Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Soft Skills: High level of integrity and confidentiality. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
