Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a paraprofessional working with students across grades K-12 in a vibrant educational environment. Multiple positions are available to support Extended School Year in June as well as needs beginning in August. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with children, including those in special education settings. Assignments may range from one-on-one support to general classroom assistance within SPED classrooms at elementary, middle, or high school levels.
Ideal candidates show dedication to shaping positive student experiences and are comfortable assisting with toileting, changing, and a variety of behavioral support strategies. Whether you prefer a specific age group or are open to working throughout the district, express your preference during the recruitment process.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Holds an active Substitute Certificate listed on the DESE website (required)
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or relevant school support role
- Comfortable working with students requiring behavioral, toileting, and changing support
- Adaptable to floating between school sites as needs arise
- Effective communication, patience, and collaborative teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized or group support to students in SPED or general settings
- Assist teachers with classroom management, instructional activities, and daily routines
- Foster a safe and welcoming space for all learners
- Support students with self-care needs as required
Scheduling Information:
- Hours vary by school level:
- Middle: 7:00am–2:30pm
- High: 7:30am–3:00pm
- Elementary: 8:30am–4:00pm or 9:00am–4:30pm
