Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Seamstress / Garment Assembly Specialist to join our production team in Troy, IL. In this role, you will play a key part in fulfilling daily customer orders by executing precision garment alterations, sewing custom patches, making minor repairs, and ensuring all finished apparel meets our strict quality standards.
Whether you are an experienced machine operator or a quick learner with a strong eye for detail, we provide complete on-the-job training for candidates eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Order Fulfillment: Meet daily production deadlines by executing custom patch sewing, garment alterations, and minor repairs on various apparel items.
- Machine Operation & Setup: Thread machines, install correct needles, and adjust thread tension to handle a variety of fabric types smoothly.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished garments for proper patch placement, correct sizing, accurate colors, and overall stitching quality before items move to shipping.
- Technical Sewing: Perform fundamental sewing tasks—including joining, gathering, and hemming materials primarily by machine (with occasional precision hand-sewing as needed).
- Routine Maintenance: Keep production running efficiently by performing basic daily machine care, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing worn needles to prevent downtime.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience operating commercial or household sewing machines is a plus, but not required—we are happy to train!
- Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for precision, matching colors/patches, and identifying quality errors.
- Punctuality & Reliability: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet daily order goals.
- Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination for handling delicate fabrics, threading needles, and operating machinery safely.
