Rocket Labs Facilities team is responsible for maintenance operations and improvements projects across our locations making sure that the facilities our teams use every day are well looked after and operating as they should.

FACILITIES TECHNICIAN II

Based onsite at Rocket Lab in Long Beach California the Facilities Technician is responsible for electrical maintenance infrastructure upgrades and electrical improvement projects at Rocket Labs headquarters and Engine Development Center.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Assist with the installation troubleshooting repair and upgrade of building electrical systems (120V480V 3-phase systems) under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Support electrical infrastructure projects including power distribution panel upgrades machine installations lighting systems and equipment tie-ins.
• Work closely with internal teams (Manufacturing Engineering EHS Production IT) to help define electrical requirements and support project timelines.
• Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics single-line diagrams panel schedules and construction drawings.
• Assist in installing and modifying conduit systems including bending conduit (EMT preferred; rigid and flexible conduit experience a plus).
• Support the sizing and selection of conductors breakers transformers and distribution equipment in accordance with NEC and local codes.
• Help with equipment installations including procurement support layout planning power drops disconnects and energization.
• Manage and update electrical work orders through JIRA prioritizing tasks based on guidance from supervisors.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with NEC OSHA and local building code requirements.
• Support oversight of contractors performing electrical work ensuring standards are met.
• Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks as needed including HVAC support plumbing repairs painting minor construction furniture relocation and other duties to support site operations.

YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma and 1 years of experience
• Some hands-on experience or coursework with mechanical and/or electrical equipment (internships school projects or part-time work welcome)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work in environments with electrical hazards chemical exposure temperature variations and noise
• Wear required PPE as assigned which may include safety glasses gloves respirators and/or other protective clothing for extended periods
• Move between buildings labs and work areas as needed
• Lift carry push and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Flexibility to work extended hours weekends and varied shifts as operational needs require

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.

Hourly Pay Range (CA Only)

$18.85 - $23.56 USD
