Position: Maintenance Mechanic
Pay Rate: $26.00–$33.00/hour
Location: Oakdale, CA

Schedule:  Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:45 PM  (45-minute lunch)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and mechanically skilled  Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment within a structural steel manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for helping ensure production equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational while minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on industrial maintenance experience and is comfortable working with cranes and hoists, welding equipment, forklifts, tractor trailers, and CNC machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial production equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on  cranes and hoists .
• Troubleshoot and repair  welders and wire feeders .
• Maintain and repair forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on tractor trailers and related equipment.
• Support the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC equipment, including  plasma tables and plate processors .
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Perform routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures before they result in downtime.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
• Replace worn or damaged components and make equipment adjustments as necessary.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including applicable Lockout/Tagout requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous  industrial maintenance experience required , preferably within structural steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• Experience maintaining  cranes, hoists, welders, wire feeders, and forklifts strongly preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge of tractor trailers and related equipment preferred.
• Operating or maintenance knowledge of  CNC plasma tables and plate processors preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
