Accounting Associate

Job Posting: Accounting Associate Organization: United University Professions Location: 800 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110 Salary Range: $65-$75k based on experience plus comprehensive benefits pkg. Job Type: Full-Time/In-Person/Management Confidential Under the general supervision of the Accountant/Assoc. Director of HR, this person provides assistance in general accounting tasks and is a member of the general support staff. This position requires a working knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and accounting software and the ability to work with others; typing and word-processing skills are preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Accounts Payable & Receivable : Process vendor invoices, manage bill payments, and respond to billing inquiries. Assist with reviewing the bookkeepers accounts payable. Month-End Close : Compile receipts for credit card statements and prepare credit card statements for journal entry. Prepare monthly statements for member donations to Vote/Cope. Record Keeping and Chapter Support : Organize digital and physical filing systems for audits, tax forms, and daily receipts. Lead and review chapter audits. Prepare correspondence, special projects and research for UUPs Secretary/Treasurer and Director of Finance/HR Qualifications: Associates required, Bachelors degree preferred in accounting, finance, or a related field. 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting work.
