Registered Nurse (RN), PACU, Full-time, Second Shift, ONA

Job Title: Nurse I (CN I – Registered Nurse). Promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The RN uses knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate culturally based and age‑specific patient care. The RN incorporates the ANCC Synergy Model to drive nursing practice and achieve optimal outcomes. Location Cincinnati, OH, United States Qualifications Required: Associate Degree from an accredited school of Nursing (ASN). Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of Nursing (BSN). Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Current BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements. For employees in UCMC Psychiatric Services, NCI‑APS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. No experience required. Responsibilities Patient Population (Clinical Only): Engage in population‑appropriate communication, provide clear instructions, involve family/guardian, identify physical limitations, respond to behavioral health problems, interpret data, respond to cultural needs, perform treatments, administer medication, recognize signs of abuse or neglect. Clinical Judgment: Clinical reasoning combined with nursing skills and evidence‑based guidelines; collects basic data; follows protocols; matches knowledge with events to make decisions. Advocacy (Moral Advocacy): Represent patient and family concerns, act as moral agent, make ethical decisions, maintain confidentiality. Caring Practices: Create a compassionate environment, promote independence, teach patients and families, maintain safety, acknowledge death. Collaboration: Work with patients and care providers, participate in discussions, maintain cooperative relationships with multidisciplinary team, remain open to contributions. Systems Thinking: Manage resources, understand environmental and system factors, recognize negotiation, consider unit context. Response to Diversity: Recognize and incorporate differences, provide culturally appropriate care, learn health‑care environmental culture. Facilitation of Learning: Facilitate learning for patients, families, staff; follow educational programs; provide data to increase understanding. Clinical Inquiry (Innovator/Evaluator): Question and evaluate practice; implement research‑based changes; identify patient problems; seek help when needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr UC Health
