Media Relations Manager

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a Media Relations Manager to build and run media strategies that raise the visibility of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The manager finds and pitches stories on faculty research, academic programs, alumni impact, and school leadership to business and education journalists. This is a temporary role in the Marketing/Communications unit, planned for six months or longer. Highlights Pitch stories on faculty research and expertise, programs, centers, and alumni impact to journalists. Develop and carry out media relations strategies that raise the school's reputation and earned media coverage. Build relationships with reporters and with faculty, students, alumni, and staff inside the school. Draft press releases, media pitches, and executive messages. Plan integrated communications that connect media outreach to the school's strategic priorities. Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bring media relations, public relations, or journalism experience, ideally in business, higher education, or nonprofit communications. Earn $40.00 an hour in a full-time temporary role of 40 hours a week.
