RN Gastroenterology

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Gastroenterology Clinic provides specialized nursing care for patients with complex digestive health conditions including pancreatobiliary disorders, swallowing difficulties, stents, liver issues, and reflux. The role involves patient assessment, treatment coordination, and collaboration with the interventional team to support ambulatory care needs in a clinic setting. The position requires at least two years of GI nursing experience, strong clinical skills, and effective communication to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients with complex gastroenterology conditions.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor clinical status in the ambulatory care setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease management and treatment protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical interventions.
• Support clinic operations including patient flow and coordination of diagnostic procedures.
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain current flu vaccination status.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado, in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of specific GI Registered Nurse experience.
• Graduate of an accredited or state board approved nursing program.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association with current card.
• Previous experience in clinic or ambulatory care nursing.
• Current flu vaccine required prior to start date.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call duties.
• No weekend shifts required.
• Work environment focused on interventional gastroenterology and complex digestive health.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday schedule.
• Five to eight hour shifts per day.
• No weekend or holiday shifts.
