Civil Engineer - $70K-$85K, Monday-Friday (61072)

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. This position will play an important role in coordinating residential construction, subdivision development, and land development projects throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.We are looking for someone with a background in construction, familiarity with civil engineering concepts and development processes, and the ability to coordinate projects, communicate effectively with municipalities and contractors, and help improve our day-to-day operations.The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who takes initiative, works well with others, and can balance multiple projects while keeping schedules, communication, and details organized. This person will work closely with our management team, municipalities, engineers, utility companies, subcontractors, and internal staff to keep projects moving efficiently.Salary will be commensurate with experience.ResponsibilitiesSubdivision & Land Development CoordinationCoordinate subdivision development activities, schedules, and project milestones.Communicate with local municipalities, engineers, surveyors, utility companies, and contractors.Assist with plat maps, grading plans, erosion control plans, permits, and other development-related documentation.Track municipal requirements, inspections, approvals, and project deadlines.Assist with site development, grading, utilities, roads, and other infrastructure-related activities.New Home Construction CoordinationCoordinate construction activities and schedules for new home construction projects.Communicate with field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.Monitor project progress and help identify and resolve scheduling or coordination issues.Assist with construction planning, ordering, documentation, and project tracking.Operations & Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency across construction and development operations.Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, spreadsheets, and tracking systems.Help standardize processes and improve communication.Use tools such as Microsoft Excel to organize information, monitor schedules, track costs, and manage project details.Take initiative, solve problems, and help keep projects organized and moving forward.Teamwork & LeadershipBuild strong working relationships with municipalities, contractors, vendors, and team members.Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively.Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow projects through to completion.Provide leadership and coordination to keep projects on schedule and ensure accountability.QualificationsExperience in residential construction, land development, construction management, project coordination, or a related field.Familiarity with civil engineering concepts, subdivision development, grading, utilities, and construction plans.Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.CAD experience is beneficial but not necessarily required.A civil engineering degree or related technical education is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.We value practical experience, initiative, reliability, communication, and the ability to learn just as much as formal education.Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.In-office and on-site responsibilities as needed.Full-time, in-person position.Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $85,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience.Paid time off.401(k) with company matching.Job Type:Full-timeWork Location:In person
