PROJECTACCOUNTANT

Reportsto:ProjectController FSLA: Exempt Objective:Theprojectaccountantpositionisaccountableformonitoringtheprogressofprojects,investigatingvariances,trackingprojectcompliance,assessingprojectriskmanagementandensuringthatprojectbillingsareissuedtocustomersandpaymentscollected.ThispositionrequiresattentiontodetailandproficiencywithfinancialsystemsandMicrosoftOffice.Mustmeettightdeadlinesandperformamultitudeofaccountingduties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepareandprocessjournalentries. FinancialReporting. UnderstandGenerallyAcceptedAccountingPrinciples(GAAP)andpractices. Maintainandimprovethecompany’sinternalcontrols. Participateinannualprojectaudits. Sharingadditionaldepartmentdutiesincludingbutnotlimitedto;dailymail,salesandusetaxcompliancelist,subcontractorbillinglist,reconcilingofvendorstatementsandrunningprocessesfromASAPtoTimberline. Responsibleforthesetupandmaintenanceofprojectsinaccountingsoftwareforintegrationintoprojectmanagementsoftware. Abilitytoworkonmultipleprojectsandadheretocompanyfinancialcalendardeadlines. EnterorupdatejobsetupinformationinTimberlineforprojectstatus,address,staffing,etc. Updatespecificprojectfinancialinformationincludingsetupofprojectcostcodes,categoriesanddescriptions,includingprocessinganychangestoaccountingsoftware. Reviewandenterprojectbudgetinformationintoaccountingsoftwaretointegratewithprojectmanagementsoftwareandreconciletothecontractscheduleofvalues. EntercontractualScheduleofValuesintoaccountingsoftwareandsetupbillingformatformonthlyOwnerbilling. Track,receiveandenterallsubcontractorandvendorbillingforProjectManagerreviewandapproval.Reviewsubcontractorbillingrelatedtosubcontractvalue,previousbilledandothercontractualsubmissionrequirementsandensuringthatsubpayapplicationmatchestheirbackup. ReviewvendorinvoicesforsalestaxcompliancetoconformwithStatemandates. Tracksubcontractorsalesandusetaxcompliance,createsalestaxinvoicesasneededandworkwithaccountingteamtoholdappropriateamountfrompaymentsifnecessary. Monitorvendorholds,reviewreportsentoutonMondaysandfollowuponanychanges. PreparedraftOwnerbilling,includingallapplicablebackupandrequireddocumentationandmeetwithProjectManagerstoreviewsubmission. AttendOwnerbillingmeetingsasneeded. Attendprojectupdatemeetingswithprojectteam,bothon-siteandoff-site,includingkickoffandcloseout. Investigateanyunbillablecostandreportanyopportunitiesforadditionalbillingstomanagement.Reviewandreconciliationofcostshouldoccurduringpreparationofmonthlyownerbilling. WorkwithPMtofinalizeallprojectrelatedaccountsreceivableinaccordancewithfinancialschedule. MonitorcashreceiptsandprepareCashRequirementsneededforpaymentstosubcontractorsandvendors.ReviewCashReqpriortocheckrunwithPCandadviseofanynon-compliantvendorsincludingsalesandusetax. Trackandfacilitateprojectfinancialcloseoutwithprojectteam. Assistwithprojectauditsasneeded. Provideyear-endsupportofauditorrequirements,whichmayincluderesearchandreconcilement. Adhocreportingasneeded. Warranty,SmallProjects,Preconstruction: Setup,trackcostandbillperaboveprojectstandardsasassigned. Ensurealldeliverablesareaccurateandtimely. Skills: MicrosoftWord,Excel,Windows,OutlookandAccess DocumentImagingSoftware KnowledgeofAccountingSoftware AdobePDF/Bluebeam PersonalAttributes: Enthusiastic,personallymotivated,andhardworking Attentiontodetail Extremelywellorganized Abletoprioritizeandmanageresources Stronganalyticalandproblem-solvingskills Abilitytodeliveraccurateresultsontime Effectivecommunicationskills Qualifications: Bachelor'sdegreepreferredorequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperience. WORKENVIRONMENT,PHYSICALANDMENTALDEMANDS
