Sterile Processing Tech

Shift: Evenings, 5x8 — 14:00–22:30

Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks

Minimum: 2 years of sterile processing experience Required certification: CBSPD OR IAHCSMM/HSPA Core clinical skills:

• Case picking and tray assembly
• Instrument decontamination and sterilization
• Scope/probe reprocessing and high-level disinfection
• Implant/loaner tray handling and preference card familiarity
• Experience with instrument tracking/instrumentation management systems (SPM preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper decontamination and processing of surgical instruments and trays to maintain sterile conditions.
• Assemble and prepare instrument trays and sets according to established protocols and preferences.
• Perform high-level disinfection and sterilization processes using various methods.
• Maintain accurate records of processed items and monitor instrument usage within the facility.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure readiness and availability of instruments and supplies.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competency and certification.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 3-day day-shift orientation required.
• Parking: facility-paid.
• Rotating weekends required.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 specified holidays.
• Pre-approved time off: one (per contract).
