Job Details Schedule: Monday-Thursday, including holidays. Rotating weekend schedule (approximately 4 weekends per year). Hours: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs. Compensation Starting Pay: $21.20 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview. Must have at least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. Employment gaps of up to 18 months are permitted for layoffs or provision of child or elder care. Full‑time student history for the last 36 months does not count against this requirement. Rehire Criteria Minimum waiting period of 180 days. No more than three rehires at Cobb/Tyson Foods. Job Summary This position is responsible for the daily supervision of team members engaged in the activities of collecting semen and inseminating hens in egg production areas while performing the same duties. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine semen testing on males (10 %) Adjust male feed and record fertility (10 %) Catch rooster and control for milking per animal welfare guidelines (15 %) Stimulate male and collect semen into vial, visually observe collected semen for viability (15 %) Catch hen, invert, and present oviduct for insemination per animal welfare guidelines (40 %) Clean and disinfect to remove debris, maintain a clean and organized work area (10 %) Farm out to other areas of the farm (10 %) Lead positions must consistently maintain four attendance points or fewer (100 %) Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as collecting cloacal and/or cleft pallet swabs prior to bird movement, moving birds between houses, using a computer to send/receive messages daily via Outlook, completing authorized lockout/tagout user training, maintaining adequate supply inventory and ordering as needed, operating a high‑pressure and regular water hose, maintaining foot pans and hand sanitizer, and maintaining vehicle by checking fluid levels, filters, and tire pressure. Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements The job site is a biosecure environment requiring showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the job site except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must use safe lifting techniques. Regularly lift and control hens and roosters up to 17 lb and carry catch frames up to 10 lb for distances up to 300 ft. Regularly stand majority of shift on a concrete floor or shavings; repetitive use of arms to reach and hands to handle or feel animals, objects, or tools up to 8 hrs per day; walk; sit; or feel objects, tools, or controls; balance; bend and stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus. Requires use of hand tools such as pipettors and tips, vials; equipment such as catch frames; safe operation of vehicle to and from work area. Work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Personal protective equipment required: safety goggles and/or glasses, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots. Arm protectors available if desired. Chemicals commonly used: disinfectants, vehicle fluids, lubricants. Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and PPE. Identify, address and mitigate safety‑related risks. Relocation Assistance No relocation assistance is available.
