WCS Healthcare is partnering with a reputable Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center in Watchung, NJ to hire a Surgical Technologist for a full-time opportunity. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule and the chance to work alongside a highly skilled surgical team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in an outpatient setting.
The ideal candidate will have operating room experience, a strong understanding of sterile technique, and a passion for delivering quality patient care. Candidates with ophthalmology experience are highly preferred, though experienced Surgical Technologists from other specialties are encouraged to apply.
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Responsibilities- Prepare operating rooms and equipment for scheduled surgical procedures
- Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures
- Assist surgeons during ophthalmic procedures, including cataract, glaucoma, retina, and other eye surgeries
- Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies
- Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, organized, and functioning
- Maintain compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
- Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other members of the surgical team
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- NBSTA Certification Preferred
- Minimum of 2 year of Surgical Technologist experience required
- Ophthalmology surgical experience Required
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or outpatient surgery experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
