Supervisor Clinical Nurse IV Central Staffing Office

The Supervisor Clinical Nurse IV Central Staffing Office is a senior nursing leader responsible for coordinating and supervising centralized staffing operations to support safe, high-quality patient care across UNC Health Rex.

Support daily operations of the Central Staffing Office, including:

• Coordination and deployment of nursing and support staff to inpatient areas and Emergency Departments at both UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs.
• Real-time staffing adjustments based on census, acuity, and patient needs.
• Collaborate with unit leaders and house supervisors to ensure safe, appropriate staffing and continuity of care.
• Teammate will be expected to staff on units within the level of care appropriate for their experience as needed to support critical needs of units
• Support orientation, competency validation, and ongoing development of CSO staff.
• Participate in committees, workgroups, or projects related to staffing, throughput, and quality.
• Assist in resource management for the Central Staffing Office, including:
• Monitoring staffing utilization, premium pay, and productivity.
• Use data and evidence to advocate for appropriate staffing and resources to support safe, high-quality care.
• Provide coaching and feedback to CSO staff regarding:
• Clinical practice
• Professional behavior
• Adherence to policies and standards.
• Support education related to new systems, workflows, or policies (e.g., updates to communication tools, documentation standards, or credentialing processes).
• Collaborate with education and clinical practice leaders to identify and address learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support safe operations, quality care, and effective staffing across UNC Health Rex.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to serve as a resource to nursing staff.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze staffing, quality, and operational data to support decision-making.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and professional nursing practice.

The Supervisor Clinical Nurse IV functions as an expert clinician, resource, and role model; supports evidence-based practice; and promotes a professional practice environment consistent with UNC Health standards and regulatory requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior charge nurse, supervisory or leadership experience. Also preferred is experience with Staffing, scheduling or centralized staffing operations.
