10210 Residential Treat Facility Brooklyn - Building & Maintenance Supervisor Brooklyn, NY, USA Job Description Summary: The Maintenance/Building Supervisor is responsible for the total maintenance of the building in accordance with regulatory standards. Essential Functions Responsible for the general cleanliness and sanitation of the facility as well as the safety and well-being of the residents and facility structure and its contents. Responsible for meeting and maintaining regulatory and company safety standards. Keep the building in a clean and orderly condition by examining the building on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness. Perform or arrange for general building and fixture repairs. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to build a strong team, including performing skill assessments and developing training plans for staff. Report any unusual conditions or malfunction of heating, plumbing and electrical systems or any other incidents. Responsible for key maintenance and other security systems. Makes estimates of labor and/or materials for repair or new construction. Assists in planning repair/renovation projects. Oversees and coordinates work with outside contractors. Responsible for the ordering and inventory control of maintenance/kitchen supplies. Responsible for garbage and refuse disposal, as well as snow removal. Supervise maintenance of landscaping and upkeep of grounds equipment. Other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff, as well as outside contractors. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 10 years’ construction and repair experience. Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, plaster, painting, door hardware, and general maintenance. 7+ years' experience with supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff. Previous maintenance experience in a residential treatment facility preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
