Schedule Full-Time 24/6 Production Schedule Overtime and weekends as needed based on production demands Pay $38.00–$44.00/hr Based on Experience Industry Folding Carton & Paper Packaging Manufacturing. Overview Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Printing Press Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Bolingbrook, IL. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses while producing high-quality folding carton packaging. The ideal candidate has experience with offset printing, color management, press troubleshooting, and maintaining production quality in a packaging or commercial printing environment. Qualifications & Skills Required High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of printing press experience in packaging, printing, or converting Experience operating Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of press setup, registration, color matching, and print quality Ability to read and interpret production job tickets Experience documenting production data and material usage Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively in English Preferred Folding carton packaging experience Offset printing experience Food packaging manufacturing experience Experience using Amtech or similar production software Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements Physical & Work Environment Stand and walk for extended periods during 8 to 12-hour shifts Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and handling production materials Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs Fast‑paced manufacturing environment Required use of PPE and adherence to all plant safety procedures Compensation & Benefits Direct Hire Opportunity $38.00–$44.00/hr Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) Health Savings Account (HSA) Paid Time Off Paid Leave Company-Paid Life Insurance Long-term career growth with a leading folding carton manufacturer Responsibilities Set up and operate Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses Perform complete press make‑readies and job changeovers Adjust ink, coatings, registration, and press settings to meet customer specifications Review job tickets, proofs, and color standards prior to production Monitor print quality throughout production and make necessary adjustments Verify board grade, sheet size, thickness, and grain direction Ensure non‑conforming products are identified, segregated, and documented Supervise and coordinate work with the Press Feeder and Aerator Operator Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on press equipment Record production data, material usage, and job information in Amtech and production documentation Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work area clean and organized Follow all food safety, HACCP, GMP, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout procedures Support inventory activities and continuous improvement initiatives as needed Essential Functions Wear steel toe shoes Manual lifting up to 20 lbs Stand for 8 hours at one time Work up to 12 hours of overtime per week Skills Press Operation Slip Sheet Operation Color standards Heidelberg Printing presses Converting Color matching Qualifications Years of experience: 3 years Experience level: Experienced Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
