Job Description
Job Title: OR RN

Profession: Registered Nurse

Shift: 12 Hour Days

Hours per Shift: 12 hours x 3; M-F, 7A-7:30P; Weekday and weekend call rotation, holiday call rotation as needed

Experience: Minimum 2 years required in specialty, with previous travel assignments preferred

License: Valid RN license

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred)

Must-Have:
2-3 years of experience in the specialty.
Experience passing the arms in and out for Robotics.
Ortho experience required.
Experience with all specialties for evening/night shifts.
Ability to scrub cases is a plus but not required.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor experience is a plus.

Description:
This position requires working in the operating room with a variety of surgical cases.


Common cases include general, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, neuro spine procedures, trauma, and vascular cases.


The average number of cases per day ranges from 35 to 45.


Travelers will rotate through charge nurse responsibilities.


On-call requirements include one weeknight call and one weekend call per month.


A response time of 30 minutes is required for on-call situations.


Floating to outpatient surgery may be necessary.


Scrubs are provided for staff.


Orientation will be provided for unit-specific protocols.


The facility supports ongoing learning for staff with minimal experience in service lines.


Weekly schedules may vary based on staffing needs.


This position requires scrub color adherence specific to the unit.


The unit operates with a high percentage of traveler staff, with no aids or housekeeping on site.


Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for two years prior to reapplying.


All candidates must disclose any background hits upon submission.


This role does not require a BSN, but all candidates must hold a valid nursing license.


Experience in emergency surgical cases is required, and candidates must be comfortable with fast-paced environments.


Shifts are primarily day/evening with no self-scheduling available for travelers.


Teamwork and flexibility are essential attributes for success in this role.
