About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7pm - 7am Experience: 1 year of Stepdown or Med/Tele experience required License: Indiana RN or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Previous cardiac experience preferred Description: Unit has specific notes regarding local rate application. Call-off policy allows for cancellations up to 24 hours prior to an assignment. Non-billable orientation hours are not included in guaranteed hours. Candidates with prior experience within the last 12 months are not eligible for non-billable orientation. Essential job requirements include: Drip titration experience is needed for those who are skilled in it. Floating may occur to Medsurg/tele units as needed. Equipment utilized in the unit includes: EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillator, and Philips bedside monitors. Required skills include: 2 years of PCU or Med/Tele background. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. Shift requirements stipulate that the employee will never work alone. Three weekends out of a 4-week schedule must be expected. Floating to other units is required when needed. PCU will float down to MedSurg when necessary. The unit consists of 12 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4:1 on Progressive Care and 4-5:1 on MedSurg. Dress code equals Caribbean blue scrubs. Training includes participation in the Jumpstart program and EPIC training. New staff will receive 1-2 days of orientation on the unit. Cancellation policy allows for up to 24 hours of notice per 13-week period. Charting is conducted through EPIC. BSN is not required. This position is in an acute care setting. Nursing is essential to the division. Shift notes clarify details specific to the schedule. Required certifications include ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).
