MACHINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Monday - Friday 

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

• Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to identify causes of malfunction
• Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and test for proper operation
• Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report issues as required
• Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas
• Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other mechanical issues
• Perform emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance on production equipment
• Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs
• Repair or replace defective parts, motors, belts, and adjust feed mechanisms
• Connect wiring to motors and fixtures, replace switches and fuses, and splice or insulate wires
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, and waste material from machines
• Clean and lubricate machine parts to ensure smooth operation
• Perform general building maintenance such as patching, painting, and minor plumbing repairs
• Assist with installation of new production machinery and equipment
• Maintain routine housekeeping standards and safety compliance

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

• Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and understand mechanical processes
• Basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics
• Previous experience in a machine shop performing maintenance mechanic duties preferred
• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• High school diploma or equivalent required
