Summit County, located in Utah, is recruiting a Public Health Emergency Manager. To lead public health emergency planning, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. This position coordinates emergency plans, trainings, exercises, grants, and partnerships to ensure the department is ready to respond to public health emergencies and disasters. The coordinator works closely with local, state, and federal agencies, manages volunteer and Medical Reserve Corps programs, maintains preparedness certifications and compliance standards, and serves as a key advisor to department leadership during emergency response and recovery operations. SALARY RANGE: $84,313.78- $118,176.63/annually
MINIMUM QUALITFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health, biological sciences, business or public administration, community health, health education, emergency management, or a related field. AND
- Two years in emergency planning, management, and/or response. OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery planning and operations.
- Manage preparedness grants, budgets, reporting requirements, and emergency response resources.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate all-hazards emergency plans, trainings, and exercises.
- Assess and strengthen emergency response capabilities, capacity, and readiness.
- Coordinate Emergency Operations Center activities and advise leadership during emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with local, state, federal, and regional partners on emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
- Maintain Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) certification and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP).
- Plan and conduct annual emergency preparedness exercises and trainings.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with government agencies, public health organizations, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
