Due to the recent growth of the firm, there is an opportunity for a Tax Associate to join a team of highly motivated staff.Tax Associate Responsibilities:Organizing and analyzing clients' financial informationTaking advantage of opportunities to minimize tax liability through deductionsPreparing necessary forms for filing taxesAdvising clients about tax liabilities and other tax-related mattersFiling tax returns on paper or electronically on behalf of clientsEstablishing and updating client recordsKeeping abreast of current IRS and state and local tax rules and regulations and ensuring full complianceAssisting with audits by gathering financial information and meeting with auditors as neededTax Associate Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA preferred1-3 years experience in public accountingAnalytical skills to review financial informationArithmetic and accounting skills to correctly complete tax formsStrong written and oral communication skills to explain information to clientsExtensive knowledge of IRS rules and regulations as well as state and local tax lawsFamiliarity with tax preparation and accounting software and electronic tax filing systemsMultitasking skills to handle multiple clients' tax preparations at the same timeOrganizational skills to maintain clean recordsStrong time management skills to complete work within strict deadlinesOther Qualifications:High stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environmentAbility to conform to shifting priorities, strong problem solving & prioritization skillsThe position requires related experience working in external relationship managementStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and flexibilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environmentSelf-driven individual, ability to work with minimal directionAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
