Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a willingness to support a diverse patient population.

Unit Information

Unit Type: Emergency Department
Shift: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM
Number of Beds: 64 beds (2 Triage, 40 Acute, 6 Super Track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, 6 Psych)
Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
Patient Demographics: Newborns, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver effective patient care.
Participate in patient assessment and document care accurately.
Assist with triage and prioritization of patients based on clinical need.
Float to other areas as required by the unit.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
Experience in Emergency Department nursing with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
Pediatric experience is preferred.
Documentation of previous travel nursing experience.
Drivers license with matching address demographics.
Completion of skills checklist that matches the specialty.

Pressors: Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine
Vasodilators: Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG
Anti-arrhythmics: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine
Sedation: Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl
Other: TNK, Heparin, Insulin
