Data Scientist - Product & Player Insights Analytics

Team Red Dog is hiring a Data Scientist - Product & Player Insights Analytics for our client, a global technology leader and data and analytics innovator. In this role, you will help drive strategic decision-making for one of the world's most recognized gaming franchises by uncovering insights behind player behavior, consumer engagement, and business performance trends. This position is heavily focused on exploratory analytics, investigative problem solving, and answering complex "why" questions using data - including identifying drivers behind changes in user engagement, product performance, and franchise initiatives. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across consumer products, partnerships, and marketing while leveraging SQL, Python, Power BI, and large-scale analytics platforms to translate ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable recommendations.

1. Strong analytical problem-solving skills with experience performing exploratory analysis and answering complex business questions using large-scale datasets.
2. Advanced SQL expertise with the ability to investigate trends, identify root causes, and synthesize insights across multiple data sources using tools such as Databricks, SparkSQL, or Azure Data Explorer.
3. Experience using Python and analytics methodologies to evaluate business performance, user behavior, engagement trends, and operational outcomes.

How you will make an impact:
• Investigate player, consumer, and business trends to identify root causes, performance drivers, and strategic opportunities
• Perform exploratory and ad hoc analysis to answer complex stakeholder questions across marketing, partnerships, and consumer products initiatives
• Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches and actionable recommendations
• Analyze out-of-game experiences and evaluate how external initiatives impact in-game engagement and franchise performance
• Partner with stakeholders to identify meaningful metrics, reporting strategies, and business insights
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools that support business decision-making
• Work with complex, high-volume datasets across multiple business and franchise data sources
• Collaborate with other data scientists and analytics partners on broader franchise reporting and forecasting initiatives
• Clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to a highly collaborative analytics environment supporting one of the world's most recognized gaming brands

The expertise you bring:
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, product analytics, or business insights roles
• Strong experience performing exploratory analytics and root-cause analysis against large datasets
• Advanced SQL skills with experience working in large-scale analytics environments
• Experience with Databricks, SparkSQL, Azure Data Explorer, or similar analytics platforms preferred
• Strong Python skills for analytics, data exploration, and statistical analysis
• 2+ years of experience using Power BI or similar dashboarding and visualization tools
• Experience supporting business stakeholders through data-driven storytelling and insight generation
• Ability to navigate ambiguous business questions and independently drive analytical investigations
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Interest in gaming, entertainment, or consumer engagement analytics is a plus
• Local to the Seattle area and comfortable with a hybrid onsite schedule
