Job Description

Position Overview\n

Wellcure Mental Therapeutic Clinic is in search of a compassionate and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dedicated team in delivering critical therapeutic services. This full-time remote position focuses on enhancing the lives of children and adolescents who face developmental challenges, providing vital support through in-community therapy. Our ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, enabling effective communication with a diverse clientele.

About the Organization\n

Wellcure Mental Therapeutic Clinic is a leading provider of mental health services for children and families in the Corpus Christi area of Texas. We specialize in assisting youth and their families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clinic fosters an inclusive and positive work culture, promoting collaboration among skilled professionals dedicated to achieving meaningful outcomes for our clients.

Work Environment\n

This position offers the unique advantage of a remote work setting, allowing for flexible scheduling options, especially during peak times after school hours. While most therapy sessions are delivered in clients' homes, some may occur at our outpatient clinic, ensuring that our therapists can effectively adapt to the needs of the families we serve. We encourage team collaboration through regular meetings, facilitating a supportive environment dedicated to continuous improvement in client care.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Wellcure Mental Therapeutic Clinic, you will be entrusted with a range of vital responsibilities, which include:

  • \n
  • Implementing personalized strategies to assist children in developing anger management techniques, coping skills, and social skills necessary for their growth.
  • \n
  • Addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or aggression by designating effective intervention methods and fostering environments conducive to positive change.
  • \n
  • Enhancing decision-making capabilities among adolescents and their caregivers to foster better management of behavioral challenges at home.
  • \n
  • Documenting all treatment plans, intake records, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with clinic policies.
  • \n
  • Engaging in regular consultations and collaborative meetings with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals dedicated to comprehensive care.
  • \n
Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who exhibit behavior health challenges, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will play a vital role in providing family-centered care, ensuring that both the children and their families receive the support necessary to thrive. This position allows you to make a significant difference in the lives of youth, guiding them and their families towards healthier coping mechanisms and improved relational dynamics.

Qualifications\n
    \n
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in therapeutic principles and practices.
  • \n
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license, signifying your readiness to practice independently and provide quality therapeutic services.
  • \n
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours each week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 PM). Flexibility for weekend sessions is also preferred.
  • \n
  • Proficient experience in providing positive behavior support as part of therapeutic interventions.
  • \n
  • Experience working specifically with children and adolescents, particularly those with developmental/intellectual disabilities, is highly valued.
  • \n
Preferred Experience\n

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, ensuring access to clients' homes for therapy sessions.
  • \n
  • Previous experience with community engagement and outreach to facilitate better access to services.
  • \n
  • Successfully passing a criminal background check, including fingerprinting for the safety and trust of our clients.
  • \n
