Internal Revenue Agent (Forensic Investigator)

Overview The Senior Forensic Accountant will conduct complex financial investigations and trace suspected fraud proceeds through bank accounts, businesses, individuals, transactions, assets, and payment systems. Responsibilities Plan and execute forensic accounting investigations related to fraud, money laundering, asset tracing, and related financial crime. Analyze financial records, bank statements, ledgers, and electronic transaction data to identify illicit activity and trace proceeds. Preserve evidentiary integrity, document findings, and prepare clear reports for internal teams and external authorities as required. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and law enforcement partners; present findings and provide expert testimony as needed. Identify control gaps and recommend remediation strategies to prevent recurrence of illicit activity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional credentials (CPA, CFE, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic accounting, investigations, or related environments. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in analyzing financial statements, banking records, and digital payment systems; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
